We have a request from our corporate leadership to hide non-primary AD accounts from Teams search. Many of us in the IT team have multiple accounts (i.e. privileged access to certain platforms, developer accounts). The request is to have the ability to hide non-primary accounts from the directory/search. These accounts don't have email licenses, never log into Teams, etc. There used to be a "Hide from GAL" option in Exchange. I’m writing to escalate a critical issue that has not been resolved despite my multiple attempts through support channels. Issue Summary: I lost access to my old mobile device, which contained my Microsoft Authenticator app. I’ve installed the app on my new phone but am still being blocked at login due to MFA. I think something needs to be done to resolve this because all the attempts to recover accounts requires Authenticator app? Its driving me nuts! Password reset attempts always redirect to the MFA prompt again. I’ve uploaded my National ID as requested by your team (see attached screenshot). However, I’ve now received a deletion warning due to an unpaid invoice of around $6, which I cannot settle because I’m locked out of the account. Account + data deleted due to six bucks? What I need: A temporary override or alternate method to bypass MFA and log in OR A direct external payment link (outside login) to settle the invoice and stop account termination. Please assist urgently. The current support loop is broken: My business and data are tied to this account, and deletion over a small invoice while I’m locked out is unreasonable. Appreciate your urgent help to prevent further escalation. Kind regards, Shake (Emcee Shake)33Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft 365 Subscriptions
In fourth quarter of 2024, I decided to upgrade my machine and tried out a web only version (freeware) of Microsoft 365. After some time, I found out that I was not getting the qualities I needed for documentation to be presentable as Microsoft Word and Excel were not usable for print formats. I decided to buy a Microsoft 365 Business subscription (bought through my domain provider) which allowed me to use my email address attached to me and my website domain. This allowed me to also download desktop copies of Word and Excel. However, I ran into problems with old accounts colliding with my new ones..., for example, Skype for Business, Microsoft Store, and Microsoft Live would constantly appear in my installation admins. If I attempted to install them, the installation would fail and get stuck i.e, I could not remove them. Microsoft message pop-ups would state, "You cannot install this on a 'work' account." I thought to myself, "Okay, I installed my Windows OS as a "Work Account on my new machine." This made sense, because I could go to my browser on my new machine and I could go to my old laptop that had absolutely no Microsoft 365 on it and access my Office from my browser profile. My old laptop is the only machine that accepts the Windows Live email address i.e., it acts as a Windows Live access service via the 'free' outlook account to which it is attached. However, now that all these items are separated by Work or Home classification, I keep getting messages that state, "We cannot renew your Microsoft 365 account." But my Work account should not be attached to Microsoft Live accounts...should it? After all, it uses Entra ID for access and the subscription is bought through my domain vendor. Why is Microsoft Support sending me these emails? My original setup accessed Microsoft Live accounts via the web through my old laptop using my free Outlook email and looked something like the graphic below:62Views0likes1CommentStop Copilot Automatically Downloading Files to my Phone
Since Office 365 mobile was converted to CoPilot, it now defaults to automatically downloading files that have been sent to me. This is a terrible default and bad for security. Not only does it mean any random crap from a WhatsApp group is downloaded using up my storage, but it does not allow me to prevent harmful files being installed on my device. Viruses and malware, apps designed to steal my data and banking information? Nothing to stop it happening. I've found the setting in CoPilot to deselect automatic downloads, but amazingly it reinstates the setting to automatically download as soon as I exit. It is my phone and my company. I am the administrator and I haven't implemented any data loss prevention policies. I have tried going into Office 365 on my laptop and finding settings on privacy, downloads etc but there is nothing there. Any tips as to stopping Microsoft from destroying the security of my phone? CoPilot for Android running on a Samsung Galaxy device, not customized.157Views0likes2CommentsMicrosoft 365 & Windows 365 Outage - 2 Weeks
Our company's Microsoft 365 (including email) and Windows 365 licenses have been completely disabled for two weeks. This is severely impacting our business: clients can't email us, we can't send emails, and access to critical data on our virtual desktops is lost. We've contacted Microsoft multiple times with no resolution. This prolonged outage is causing significant operational paralysis and forcing data recreation. We urgently need assistance in understanding the cause and a swift resolution to restore our services. We have tried reactivating, and have attempted getting through a Microsoft partner, but nothing has helped. Any advice on escalating this critical issue would be greatly appreciated.215Views0likes3CommentsFamily member told their subscription has expired but they are on mine, and it hasn't.
I only have one person as a family member on my family 365 subscription and they are showing as an accepted family member, but their computer will not allow them any access to Microsoft 365 products, they just get a message saying thei subscription has expired. Why? how can we fix this?29Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft 365 Account Swap
Hi, I've had my current Hotmail account for over 25 years. Recently, I noticed that every 20 minutes, there's an attempted login to this account. It's set up as passwordless, and I've taken all possible steps to secure it — but given how frequently it's being targeted, I'm concerned it could eventually be compromised. Because this account contains a lot of personal data, I’ve decided to create a new Microsoft account where I plan to purchase a Microsoft 365 Family subscription. Here’s what I’d like to do: Purchase Microsoft 365 on my new account. Add my old account as a family member (it currently has about 1 month left of Microsoft 365). My old account has 4 family members already — I’d like to make sure they are not affected during this transition. My key concern: How can I ensure that no OneDrive files or data are lost — both from my old account and from the accounts of my existing family members — when I make this switch? Any guidance on how to make this transition smooth and secure would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!69Views0likes2Comments365 family subscription bug
Hello, I was using microsoft Powerpoint this morning, when my account was deactivated because “subscription expired”. I have a family 365 subscription and yet everything is in order. The license holder deleted me and remitted without success since the link works but once on my account is displayed "your subscription has expired since October 27, 2013" I even deleted my linked devices but without success. Despite my subscription being in order and the link working, I'm systematically returned to the "your subscription has expired since October 27, 2013" box, even though I'm currently under an active 365 family subscription.55Views0likes1CommentHow to end m365 subscription without admin login
3 weeks ago, my team including admin was logged out because of a business domain update. I lost my MFA device and was unable to sign in again. I called support 3 weeks ago, created a ticket (Case number 2503170040016641), sent another email to describe my issue, and they told me I would hear back from them within 8 hours, heard back nothing. I called again a week after my first call, told me I will be contacted by an engineer soon, still nothing.... It has been 3 WEEKS since my team lost access to the entire m365 service, got 0 help. I'm frustrated and very disappointed. Already switched to Google Workspace. Now I just want to end the subscription since I'm still getting billed every month, but I can't cancel it without logging in. please help76Views0likes3CommentsI Can't use my own name to create a new Microsoft account in India.
I am an Indian Microsoft user, my full name is Aryan Rajput, which is legally registered by my parents in my country Republic of India. I don't know any norms of European countries about registering names, I don't know what restrictions are made, I can clarify my name, in my present situation is legal and legit. Moreover, none of my associates (including my parents) are pro-Nazi, and let me tell you leader of Nazism (I don't want to tell his name here hence I might be banned maybe) inspired by Indian culture and adopted terms like my name (Aryan means noble). Hence Microsoft should allow me to adopt my name in creating new account, because it's my right! At least they must allow in India where it is legal I hope the management would take necessary steps accordingly63Views0likes2Comments
