Thanks all, for your participation in today's AMA! Here are some questions the panelists answered during the session:
Question -- What can you share about the serverless GPU integration with Azure AI foundry? – answered at 7:05.
Question -- I wanted to do a quick comparison-- with Windows 365, the way you create a Cloud PC for a user is by creating a provisioning policy (image, location, VM characteristics), assigning a group of users to it, all via Intune. For Dev Box, this is all done via Azure? Can you describe how this configuration works with Dev Box? – answered at 12:54.
Question -- I work on apps for 2-3 clients at a time. Do they need the Dev Box license, or do I? – answered at 15:21.
Question -- With regards to projects, can you tell me more about what controls are available (security, cost, etc.) and what became generally available with the customization imaging? – answered at 17:20.
Question -- How long does it take to provision a dev box? Can I provision multiple dev boxes at one time? – answered at 28:20.
Question -- Regarding provisioning Dev Boxes: does it require Entra ID and is it managed in Azure or Intune? – answered at 30:43.
Question -- Can Dev Boxes be hybrid-joined or just pure Entra-joined? Does it support both configurations like Windows 365 Cloud PCs? – answered at 33:49.
Question -- In terms of the project configurations, you mentioned enterprise guardrails—for one of them you can create and ensure projects are separated? What check-boxes are there? Is it just a simple check-box? How does it work? – answered at 34:43.
Question -- For Dev Box, is this all Azure Pay-as-you-go, or is it like Windows 365 where there are licenses? – answered at 38:09.
Question -- Do I have to use VS Code or is there a way to integrate it with other editors? – answered at 42:15.
Question -- Does DevBox support Linux? – answered at 43:50.
Question -- How do you access your Dev Box? – answered at 45:36.
Question -- Going back to serverless GPU’s, I know you mentioned that this is enabled at the project level, how does the Dev Box user trigger the action to use the GPUs? – answered at 48:21.
Question -- Are there controls in place to help us manage costs in case people leave their dev boxes open and running? – answered at 50:24.
Question -- Ok, I'm in. How do I get started? – answered at 52:48. Go to aka.ms/DevBox/GetStarted and aka.ms/DevBox/DocsAdditional links shared:
