When Windows 10, version 21H2 is released later this year, there will be no updates to the Windows Hardware Compatibility Program (WHCP). The program will utilize the same guidelines as Windows 10, version 2004, which include the following activities:

  • WHCP requirements – No change. Windows 10, version 2004 requirements remain applicable for Windows 10, version 21H2.
  • Windows Hardware Lab Kit (Windows HLK) – No change. Since WHCP requirements persist in Windows 10, version 21H2, the Windows HLK also remains the same. There will not be a new Windows HLK release for Windows 10, version 21H2. Both Windows 10, versions 2004 and 21H2 can be used for the Windows 10, version 2004 qualification.
  • Errata – No change. All Windows 10, version 2004 waivers will continue to be valid for Windows 10, versions 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2.
  • Windows HLK playlist – No change. The Windows HLK for Windows 10, version 2004 playlist can be used for Windows 10, versions 2004, 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2.
  • Driver signature – No change. Drivers that meet all the applicable Windows 10, version 2004 requirements will be digitally signed with the same signature attributes.
  • Submission – No change. Windows 10, versions 2004, 20H2, 21H1 21H2 can be used for WHCP submission.
    • WHCP qualification – Windows 10, version 2004
    • Required OS version – Windows 10, version 2004, version 20H2, version 21H1, and version 21H2
    • HLK version – Windows HLK for Windows 10, version 2004

I am trying to register for MS Windows Hardware Dev Program in order to submit my IoT driver for certification.  I login the Azure AD Global Administrator account to register.  I downloaded and sign SignableFile.bin using Signtools.exe without any issue.  However, when I tried to upload the signed SignableFile.bin, it failed with the error "We encountered a problem processing the file you uploaded. Please ensure the file you sign and upload is the same file you downloaded."  Can anyone help?

I am trying to certify my Ethernet LAN Driver for Windows 10, version 21H2, with HLK version 2004 running on Windows server 2019.

As soon as I load the playlist on the HLK Studio NO recommended test cases are getting populated. The list of tests to run is empty.

But things are working fine when I try to certify the same driver for Windows 10, version 1809 with its respective HLK.

Could anyone please help me here?

Thanks for that explanation, tho' I'm afraid the distinction isn't too obvious to me. MS ought to make it clearer that its compatibility list is for those making new computers, not existing ones.

However, I'll contact Dell and see what they have to say.

You may have found this page because of the word "compatibility", but this page(blog) is intended for application or hardware development companies.

If you want to check the compatibility of Windows 11 itself, you'd better check with your PC manufacturer.

    Hello

Why my HP Elite X2 with a Intel core I5 7200u processor is not in the list ?

Everything else seems O.K. in the requirement list *except* the processor  😞

When checking as to whether my 2016 Dell XPS15 (upgraded to 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD) is OK for W11, I am getting confused reports from MS checks.

Running PC Health Check app shows my processor is incompatible. It is an Intel i7-7700HQ running at 2.80GHz.

Yet MS's Windows 10 21H1 Supported intel processors page lists this as one that is supported.

I am running W10 Pro, 21H1, installed on 17/08/2929, OS build 19043.1237, with Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0.

So, is my computer OK for W11 or  not?
