Where are Entra ID Backup Services stored?

Hey there, 

I am looking to find out more information on where backups for Entra ID are stored? Are they stored within the same region as the tenant or are they global?

This architecture was demonstrated in the following blog. It doesn’t articulate though where the backups are kept. Any light on this would be appreciated.
